Repeat Medication Requests

The easiest way is to register for our online service (username and password protected) through our Receptionist at Ridge Green or Freshbrook Surgery. Please bring some photo Id as proof of id as you will have full access to your booked appointments, prescription medicine list to request repeats and be able to book or cancel appointments.

We offer a 2 working day (please allow additional time for the chemist to prepare your prescription - varies from pharmacy to pharmacy) repeat prescription service. Please give written requests, clearly stating whether the prescription is to be collected from or pick up from the surgery. This will allow enough time for us to process your prescription through our multi point safety check, pass the request to pharmacist who will then need to recheck then dispense and label medicines ready for collection. Please use the tear off slip from the previous prescription. Our electronic request service is free and easy to set up-it is a convenient and easy way to request repeat medication with us, sign up in person at the reception.

Please ensure you have an annual medication review. You can now do this with our prescribing Clinical Pharmacist who specialises in reviews. Feel free to discuss concerns about medication even if your review is not yet due. Please make sure you have your review on or before it is due - you can check this date on your prescription repeat list - the date is there against each medicine.

We no longer accept fax requests due to incorrect details or missing information on faxes causing script errors. Please do register now for online requesting for secure reliable service.

We regret that we cannot accept verbal requests for repeat prescriptions. However we realise that there are exceptional circumstances - please talk to our receptionist for more information.

PRESCRIPTION DELAYS: - sometimes there is a delay in getting your medicines together (the vast majority are processed the same or next day). Prescribing errors are some of the commonest problems in the NHS, we do our best to make sure your medicines are issued safely and securely. Some requests will need additional security steps or scrutiny to ensure safety. We may need additional time to process such requests and in addition may require you to make an appointment to see our doctor to confirm the need for a particular medicine. Please bear with us if there is a delay, we always do our best to get medicines processed in time to avoid a break in treatment.

Going on holiday? Remember to order your repeat prescriptions in plenty of time.
